Chapter Fourteen
Allison woke to a message from Jordan asking if they could meet up for coffee at 9:30. She groaned knowing this coffee date would likely come with a side of advice. After the night she had spent with Taylor she literally wanted to do nothing but eat breakfast in bed. She longed to lay beside Taylor for a bit longer. Taylor lay with her body pressed tight against Allison's. A strand of dark hair hung messily over Taylor's brow. Somehow the moment was perfect, even in the RV with the looming threat of coming clean to Harper. Allison was at peace. She knew that Taylor was the woman she wanted to enter the next chapter of her life with. Her own certainty startled her.
She sent Jordan a quick affirmative response. Knowing that the other woman likely wouldn't have taken no for an answer anyways. She wondered in passing what Jordan's birth sign was. Taylor woke as Allison moved her hands.
"Hey, you. Good morning." Allison bent over giving Taylor a sweet kiss on the cheek.
"Good morning. Are you going somewhere?"
"I'm meeting Jordan for coffee." Taylor pouted.
"You just saw Jordan last night. Wouldn't you rather stay here?" Allison grinned back at her.
"I'm sure I would. But you probably want me to go. I'm pretty sure Jordan is going to read me the riot act about not coming clean to Harper."
"Oh, that's right. Jordan is Team Taylor. In that case stay and have as much coffee as you want."
"Hey, I'm Team Taylor too." Allison pouted.
"After last night I sure hope so. I definitely want you on my team." Taylor grinned lifting herself up on her hands to give Allison a soft kiss. Allison wanted to sink deeper. She wanted to wrap the moment around her like a soft blanket. But Jordan was avidly punctual, so she scooted from the bed. Taylor gave her a mournful look, falling back onto the bed dramatically.
"Sorry, I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you later. I promise." Allison said, throwing on her shirt as Taylor came into the RV's living area. Allison gave her one more kiss on the lips before turning and heading out the door. If she had given anymore kisses she wasn't sure she would have been able to force herself to leave.
Hump Day Coffee shop was the hidden gem of WaterColor. Known mostly to the locals as opposed to being a tourist trap. This meant that year-round they could be counted on to prepare a fantastic cup of coffee. Jordan Foxx sat in one of the high back leather chairs. Allison marveled at the woman's posture; she was always perfectly poised. Jordan scanned her as she approached obviously noting the fact that she was wearing last night's clothes. Allison thought she saw a flicker of a smile curve the ends of Jordan's lips.
"Good morning." Jordan said this time with a definite grin.
"I would ask how your night went, but I'm guessing it went pretty well." She gestured for Allison to sit in the seat closest to hers.
